| ANARCHY IN THE UK Tom Vague AK Press Much more than a small group of individuals, the Angry Brigade was a movement that challenged reaction and State power in all its forms. Part of a general European resistance movement, it was an armed offensive grounded in substantial popular support. No leaders, do it yourself... Here, in Tom Vague's notorious barbed pop-culture style, is the story of Britain's premier revolutionary hooligans. Drawing extensively on the Angry Brigade's communiqués themselves, along with both the underground/counter-cultural and mainstream press of the late 60s/early 70s, and police and court documents, the book is profusely illustrated throughout...
| FRIENDS OF DURRUTI GROUP 1937-1939 Augustin Guillamòn AK Press "Revolutions without theory fail to make progress. We of the 'Friends Of Durruti' have outlined our thinking, which may be amended as appropriate in great social upheavals but which hinges upon two essential points which cannot be avoided. A program, and rifles." —El Amigo del Pueblo, No. 5, July 20, 1937. Spain 1936–1939: This is the story of a group of anarchists engaged in the most thoroughgoing social and economic revolution of all time. Essentially street fighters with a long pedigree of militant action, they used their own experiences to arrive at the finest contemporary analysis of the Spanish Revolution. In doing so, they laid down essential markers for all future revolutionaries. This study—drawing on interviews with participants and synthesizing archival information—is THE definitive text on these unsung activists. This volume is translated, edited, and introduced by Paul Sharkey, acknowledged internationally as the foremost expert on the Friends Of Durruti Group. Pris: 80kr |

| NESTOR MAKHNO, ANARCHY'S COSSACK: THE STRUGGLE FOR FREE SOVIETS IN THE UKRAINE 1917-1921 Alexandre Skirda AK Press The phenomenal life of Ukrainian peasant Nestor Makhno (1888–1934) provides the framework for this breakneck account of the downfall of the tsarist empire and the civil war that convulsed and bloodied Russia between 1917 and 1921. As in many of history's chivalric tales, clashes were fought through lightning cavalry charges and bitter hand-to-hand, saber-wielding combat. The combatants were drawn from several camps: Budyenny's Red cavalry, the Don Cossacks and Kuban Cossacks (allied with the Whites), Ukrainian nationalists, and Makhnovist partisans. Makhno, a formidable and daring strategist, headed an army of anarchist insurgents—a popular peasant movement which bore his name. Mahkno and his people were fighting for a society "without masters or slaves, with neither rich nor poor." They acted towards that ideal by establishing "free soviets." Unlike the soviets drained of all significance by the dictatorship of a one-party State, the "free soviets" became the grassroots organs of a direct democracy—a living embodiment of the free society—until they were betrayed, and smashed, by the Red Army. Delving into a vast array of documentation to which few other historians have had access, this study illuminates a revolution that started out with the rosiest of prospects but ended up utterly confounded. Nestor Makhno: Anarchy's Cossack brings to life this dramatic turning point in contemporary history. More than just the incredible exploits of a guerilla revolutionary par excellence, Skirda weaves the tale of a people, and the organizations and practices of anarchism, literally fighting for their lives. The Assassination Attempt On Franco From The Air: 1948 Stuart Christie (Afterword By), Albert Meltzer (Introduction by), and Antonio Tellez Kate Sharpley Library The course of Spanish History might well have been changed on Sunday 12th September 1948 on the second day of the fishing boat regatta being fought out at San Sebastian before the eyes of General Franco. A group of anarchists in exile had laid their plans that the chief of state should die in the waters of La Concha Bay beneath a hail of incendiary and shrapnel bombs dropped from a light aircraft... This is the story of that dramatic plan, expanded with original documents. This handsome edition includes a preface by Albert Meltzer on the Spanish Anarchist resistance; and tributes to Laureano Cerrada Santos, the anarchist militant, forger, and veteran of the French Resistance who planned the attack, and Antonio Tellez (1921-2005), the first and greatest historian of the Spanish anarchist resistance - penned by Stuart Christie. Anarchism, Insurrections & Insurrectionalism José Antonio Gutiérrez D. Zabalaza Books Insurrection - the armed rising of the people - has always been close to the heart of anarchism. The first programmatic documents of the anarchist movement were created by Bakunin and a group of European left-republican insurrectionists as they made the transition to anarchism in Italy in the 1860’s. This was not a break with insurrectionism but with left-republicanism, shortly afterwards Bakunin was to take part in an insurrection in Lyon in 1870. Pris: 20kr |
